How is the product priced?

First this: we apply a GUARANTEED LOWEST PRICE GUARANTEE! That means that we promise that you'll get the lowest price possible for a piece at a certain supplier under the same conditions; in case it's proven differently, we'll pay back the difference! (we have agreements with our main suppliers that they must give us best prices)

We have two pricing methods:
FOB: Includes product consolidation, product packing, container loading and inland freight. Note - Most clients choose this pricing method so unless you request otherwise this will be the price shown online.
CFR: Includes product consolidation, product packing, container loading, inland freight, terminal charges, loading on vessel, and freight.

Note - As arrival charges, duties & taxes and delivery to destination differ from country to country we find that you'll be able to get better pricing and terms if you handle these items. Of course if you want, we can take care of the whole process for you and price the product to your door.

What about payment options?

Unless otherwise requested: 1-All price are in USD or RMB/CNY 2-All prices are FOB

Required deposits:
For Antiques and AHD production items: 10% of estimated container value to confirm order
Roughly (20ft/40ft/40HC): 1,000 / 1,500 / 2,000 USD;  60% of container value to ship order;  30% against documentation. For Custom Production: 40% upon sample/design confirmation to begin production 40% to ship order 20% against documentation

Do you guys have minimum order quantities?

Yes. To ensure the integrity of your product during shipping we recommend that you order at least a 20ft container. For soft items, such as textiles, we require an order of at least 100pcs. Such soft items will be sent by air cargo.
Exceptions are possible, please check with us... we do even drop ship single items if required.

How can I be sure of the product's quality?

AHD has a professional quality control system that is in accordance with the highest international quality standards. AHD strongly believes that the best way to prevent quality problems is to work with the best factories. We also do our due diligence. AHD employs a three layer quality assurance system for sampling & production runs: Pre-assembly inspection Post-assembly inspection Finishing inspection We'll keep you updated throughout the process and provide a detailed final quality report.
Asian Home Deco also provides quality assurance through the product packaging and container loading processes. We provide a detailed Container Loading Report for each container we ship. Download here a sample of our Container Loading Report

How do you pack the product?

We adapt the packing to your needs. Let us know your requirements.
For furniture If no special packing is required by you, standard packing with foam paper and three layer cardboard is applied for furniture. For statues Stone statues all have a wooden crate built around them. Exceptions are overly small stone items which are well wrapped with foam paper and overly large stone statues - meaning statues that are more the seven feet in height or take up more than 3/4 of a cubic meter - which will be loaded directly into the container. Most brass items will be wrapped in foam paper.
Special packaging, such as palletisation is available upon request.

Can you arrange for shipping and logistics?

Our Shipping services include: Antique inspection, Container booking, Container Loading, Inland transportation, Fumigation, Chinese Customs clearance, Documentation: (Bill of Lading, Invoice, Packing List, Form A - where required, Fumigation, Packing Declaration) Documents delivering by UPS, or DHL. Shipping insurance is available at customer’s request.
Orders that contain no production items can be shipped within two weeks from receipt of second down payment. For orders that contain production items, a production time of 3-5 weeks (depending on quantity and difficulty of production) is needed. Shipping time to the west coast of the United States is generally about three weeks and to other destinations an additional 1-2 weeks is needed. We generally arrange shipping however we will ship your container by the steamship line of your choice. All Chinese inland freight, customs clearance, packaging and container loading is grouped together and charged at standard international rates. AHD normally does not clear customs at the destination port, nor schedule the shipping from the destination port to the registered consignee address. We have found in the past that it is quicker, easier and cheaper to handle this from the destination location. However, if requested we can provide this service as well - some additional fees may apply. Inability to take possession of Container If for any reason a customer cannot take possession of an ordered container once it has reached its destination, then the customer shall be held responsible for all costs incurred.

What happens if some product arrives damaged?

AHD takes the upmost care in handling your goods. From packing the individual item to loading the container we insure great care is taken. We provide you with a Container Loading Report which is used to inform you of the packaging and loading process. However if you are not satisfied with the handling of your items, assuming no abnormal occurrences, please use our Claims Credit Request to report any damage to your product incurred during shipping. If any product arrives completely destroyed AHD will replace it 100% and the item will be shipped with your next order.

What if I order too much?

If you over order (I know we've got a lot of great furniture!), but don't want to ship two containers at this time, we'll  inform the you and request a priority packing list (a list that states which items must be loaded, and one that states which items may be left behind). Such list may be mailed to Asian Home Deco within 5 working days of receipt of a request for such list. Should the customer fail to provide such list, AHD will provide a priority packing list to you and allow two working days for approval. If we receive no approval, we will send the container according to AHD's priority packing list. Customers may indicate if they wish excluded items to be considered as backorders or have the product released to be made available for sale to AHD's other clients. Backorders shall always take precedence over any new order received.
We can try to refund "over-bought" items, but better is to store them in our warehouse till your next container leaves. We can supply free storage limited in time and space though.

What if I don't order enough?

If for whatever reason you cannot fill the container, you can choose to send an LCL (less than full container load) or request AHD to select pieces on your behalf. LCL - due to an increased probability of product damage during shipping an LCL, AHD's normal shipping guarantee will not apply. We strongly recommend you to fill at least a 20' container.

Why Beijing?
The mega centre for buying Chinese antiques in the 1990's was Ningbo...and there's also Guangzhou; but they have depleted all the nice pieces from central and South China trading and consulting company.
When exports slumped early 2000's and crashed with the crisis around 2005, many suppliers already moved to production of sofa's or French Country style furniture. Surely Guangzhou tends towards making industrialized mass production furniture... "cheap".
(we can bring you to the right places if required)

Beijing had Gao Bei Dian as centre for exports of hundreds of containers of the nicest antiques.
Today the nicer still affordable pieces come from the north of China and often are traded at the markets in and around Beijing. (we know of some other raw antique markets too)

In Beijing, the factories are less big and less modernized. That means ore authenticity and more hand work more craftsmanship... which creates so much more added value to produced pieces.
All factories in China complain about high labor costs. Beijing is no exception, but the good news is that for generations there have been skilled woodworkers and finishers who's families are rooted in Beijing and neighboring cities.

So overall, we believe Beijing and northern China (including also Shandong and Shaanxi) have quite some advantages for the buyers of good pieces with added value. (if you want cheap mass production, we'll bring you South).

Besides furniture, production of very good stones carvings and statues is also done in the Northern area's.
